What motivates you to show up and do this work daily?

I started in education because I want to make a meaningful impact during my life. I moved into postsecondary placement and counseling because I wanted students to live choice-filled lives and so many of those lives were on the other side of a college degree.

Quick Bio

Shirin Foroudi has been in education for over 20 years as a classroom teacher and eventually as an administrator and then consultant. During her career, she has worked in a variety of contexts: classrooms, campuses, CBOs, district offices, and on behalf of state agency and foundation clients. Her sweet spot professionally is untangling complicated problems that relate to college and career access and success for young people who are systematically under-represented and under-resourced. Whether it was crafting middle school CTE curriculum for a state agency or piloting a statewide rollout of a postsecondary effective advising framework, her central focus is to ensure the rigor, relationships and relevance exists within the K-12 experience so students are prepared for what’s next in their lives. She looks forward to connecting your organization with the brilliance at CGC to ensure students have choice-filled lives. She is based in Dallas and is endlessly entertained by her precocious son
