CONSULTANT ROLE (Contract)

ABOUT CGC

Founded in 2020, Chantelle George Consulting  is a Black, female owned and operated postsecondary education consulting firm that supports entities focused on the college to career pipeline.  We are a team of diverse consultants who  reflect the communities in need of our support. Specifically, our team consists of over 80% of people that identify as female or a person of color.  We partner by providing postsecondary strategy, partnership support, coaching, and program development  to K-12 districts, non-profit organizations, institutions, and employers. We exist for organizations to reimagine their current methods and shift from good to great.

CGC CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Project Management: Working alongside a project team, the Consultant engages with clients while supporting the project team to ensure deliverables are being met. CGC consultants use their sector expertise to contribute and/or complete project deliverables that can include but not limited to: writing and/or editing curriculum, running interviews and focus groups, completing program landscape analysis, and creating summary presentations and reports. 

  2. Contribute to Client Satisfaction: CGC Consultants engage with clients while supporting the project team to ensure deliverables are being met. At CGC, our strongest impact lies in our ability to deliver exceptional results to our clients. 

  3. Model a Fail Forward Attitude: Be an example for your project team and celebrate failing forward. Seeing every opportunity as learning and continuous improvement.  CGC consultants are okay with “living in the grey”.

  4. Project Lead (Required for Lead Consultants only): The Lead consultant serves as the “quarterback” of the project. This role is the primary point of contact for all project communication and deliverables. Their day-to-day work and general responsibilities include supporting the scope of work as well as coordinating the meeting cadence for external clients and the internal project team.  Lead consultants are accountable for the overall success of an engagement with support from the CGC Project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College and Career Readiness Knowledge: Wide-range of college and career readiness/ postsecondary knowledge base and experience with supporting non-profits, foundations, K-12 school districts, and/or institutions of higher education.  Has worked in or supported the above entities to plan, implement, and/or evaluate postsecondary programs or systems. Direct experience in the following areas are preferred:

    Program Development

    Partnership Management

    Strategic Planning

    Curriculum Development 

    Postsecondary Research

    Project Management

  • Proposal Writing: Has helped coordinate requests for proposals for grants or current clients. Has created or contributed to project management systems, and/or has coordinated or supported projects that require collaborating with multiple stakeholders. 

  • Research: Has experience with completing “deep dives” on various postsecondary practices and programs.   Has a motivation to research and gather information that can help support the project and overall recommendations to the client. Understands how to summarize large data sets into digestible formats for an external audience.

  • Self Directed: Has experience moving a  project from start to finish. At CGC, we do have support, templates, and processes in place but our expectation is that individuals in this role can take those resources and MOVE.

  • Facilitation: Has experience with presenting in front of external stakeholders both in person and remotely. Most if not all of CGC projects require a presentation of the final deliverable.  

  • Team Management (Required for Lead Consultant): Has worked in a start-up environment.  Has experience diving right in while motivating others to meet deliverables and timelines. Has a motivation to learn collaboratively with other consultants and gain new knowledge and skills  to help amplify impact. Ready to fully embrace projects that are meaningful while balancing self-care.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Masters or Doctorate degree preferred
